Location of Mondi Am Grundlsee

Mondi Resort is perfectly located on a hill, just by the Grundlsee mountain lake, giving you panoramic views over the whole area. Bad Aussee town is located a short 10 min drive away, while the world-famous, picturesque village of Hallstatt, about an hour.

The property is divided into two parts. The Resort with views over the lake, breakfast served at the Wassermann restaurant and studios / 1 bedroom apartments. And then, the Chalet part which has a separate reception and views over the valley on the opposite side.

The activities

Mondi Am Grundlsee has plenty of activities for the guests. Start your day with a swim in the pristine waters of the Grundlsee lake, or choose to kayak or use a paddle board. The access to a small boathouse located just 3 min walking down from the reception (where you must pick up the keys) is free. There is also an indoor pool, a gym and a game room with a pool table where you can relax after a long day.

Sunrise on top of the world

Wake up before the sun and drive for 30 min to welcome the day ‘on top of the world’. This spectacular spot shouldn’t be missed while traveling around Austria. The spot is located next to Loserhutte and every local will point you in the right direction.

Hike to Augstsee

This beautiful alpine lake, located at approx. 1,640 meters above sea level is very easy to reach on foot from the Loserberghütte car park- just 10 min walk.

Hike to Toplitzsee

This 2h easy hike leads right next to the gorgeous lake Grundlsee. You will walk all the way to the other side to the beautiful Toplitzsee lake.

Cycle to Altausseer See

Lake Altaussee ranks amongst the most beautiful lakes of the Salzkammergut. This crystal clear lake is located at the foot of Loser Mountain in a fantastic mountain landscape. You can choose to hike or bike there from Mondi am Grundlsee. The distance is apx 10 km.
