1. Beautiful Coastal Nature

The idyllic shores of this formerly sleepy beach town, are perfect places to relax, suntan and leave all the stress of hard work behind. The kilometer long coastline has stunning azure waters, practically-white powder sand and plenty of swaying palms. I bet you can already imagine yourself lying on a sun bed with a mojito in one hand and a tacos in the other.

2. Proximity to Plenty Cenotes

Tulum is located just a short drive from some of the most beautiful cenotes in Yucatan Peninsula. Those natural sinkholes with fresh water, created by the collapse of the limestone celling have magical atmosphere and crystal clear waters perfect for an afternoon dip.

3. Rich Night-Life! ??

Tulum has a great night life for those wanting to have fun till sunrise, dancing barefoot on the sand. From full moon beach parties at the legendary Papaya Playa Project, to the uber popular daily parties at Coco Tulum. A lot of festivals, and international DJs are often invited to many different locations of Tulum. Another spot we enjoyed going to was Pablo Escobar Mansion iconic villa. Turned into a hotel, Casa Malca, it has a great beach with cozy cabanas, great cocktails and personnel, and also cool parties with djs organised (for New Years eve for example).

4. Amazing Cuisine

The food in Tulum is one of the best we had in our life’s, any tacos you could get from deli at the corner wouldn’t come anywhere close to it. The fresh ingredients, best cooks and unique atmosphere takes the whole dining experience to another level. We did not have a single bad avocado or fruit! ??

5. Breathtaking Mayans Ruins a Bike Ride Away

Tulum Ruins are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sites in the Americas. Arrive early in the morning to admire this stunning complex of Mayan ruins dating back to the 13th century set on white sand and azure waters.

6. Eco-Friendly Spirit

The eco-friendly and hippy vibe is already Tulum’s trend mark. This location is great for those conscious about their environmental impact. There is variety of choice of sustainable hotels, vegan and natural restaurants and small cafes, where drinks are served with bamboo or metal straws and plastic of all kind is avoided.

TIP : Go have a drink before sunset and check out Azulik breathtaking & unique architecture. It’s a fancy place, so dress the part.

7. Less Crowded & Relax Place!

Tulum is less crowded the Cancun, has more relaxed vibe, therefor makes a better place for those who look for relax and “authentic” holidays. There are a lot of places to practice yoga, set in hotels mostly but also in retreat camps, always with international yogi masters.

TIP : Start your day in Tulum with yoga at Alaya Tulum. The teachers are amazing, the semi open space is so beautiful and there really is no better feeling than peacefully stretching with morning light and the sound of the waves. And this is a donation-based lessons! ( leave 5-10 bucks ?)

Tulum is definitely worth a visit ! But are you sure to know what to expect?
